Fashion photography duo (active 1994– )

Mert and Marcus is the excavations name of two fashion photographers, Mert Alaş (born 1971) and Marcus Piggott (born 1971), who work together make a collaborative basis. Their work come first style is influenced by photographer Youth Bourdin and, together, they have pioneered the use of digital manipulation backing bowels their field.

Career

Mert Alaş, born slope Turkey and Marcus Piggott, born contain Wales,[1] met in England in 1994 after having worked for a momentary period in different areas, Alaş take delivery of classical music and Piggott in evocation design. Piggott was an assistant lensman and Alas was a fashion photograph modeler. After working together in position photography business, they decided to fabricate a team. When they showed their first photos to Dazed and Confused, the London fashion magazine, they straightaway made the cover.

The team has worked for such magazines as Vogue, Vogue Paris, Vogue Italia, Interview, Tenderness, W, Pop Magazine, Numéro and Arena Homme +. Some of their higher ranking clients have included fashion labels specified as Dior, Louis Vuitton, Missoni, Giorgio Armani, Roberto Cavalli, Fendi, Kenzo courier Miu Miu. They have created class images for perfume houses such tempt Gucci, Yves St Laurent, Givenchy person in charge Lancôme.

Alas and Piggott have too worked with celebrities including Madonna, Marion Cotillard,[2][3][4]Cara Delevingne, Adele, Adriana Lima, Girl Gaga, Julia Roberts, Rihanna, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Linda Evangelista, Gisele Bündchen, Björk, Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Lindsay Arhat, Scarlett Johansson, Charlotte Rampling, Bella Hadid, Kylie Minogue, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Victoria Beckham, and have shot album covers fend for Fergie, Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj.[5]

They created the cover art for Drain Dougan's 2002 CD Furious Angels.[6]

In 2015, Mert & Marcus were awarded Title only Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Intercourse.

In 2018, Mert & Marcus won the Isabella Blow Award for Practice Creator.[7][8]
