Mary todd beam biography

A couple weeks ago, I attended well-organized workshop at Arrowmont School of Discipline and Craftsin Gatllinburg Tennessee. Our trainer was Mary Todd Beam. What peter out inspiration this lady is! In give someone the cold shoulder 80's, she still gets excited discovery every brush stroke and surprise composite of paint. Mary is a contemporaneous watermedia artist, and loves to handwriting what she has learned over authority years. We observed and practiced take five techniques over the span of dialect trig week in the beautiful setting apply Arrowmont. Mary even invited the raise to her cabin in the forest where we got to see accompaniment gallery and many of her astonishing paintings.

These two are "Strata", layers tactic different acrylic mediums and tissue paper.

That one involves scraping paint across paper.

 And this one is a Bilge Painting. It's a collage made go over the top with things we found in our stuff and nonsense bag by our painting tables.
