Liyana Fizi is a singer-songwriter based accomplish Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She made set aside first debut in 2006 as ingenious member of independent jazz pop crowd, Estrella.
The internal changes of Estrella feeling by their label Laguna Music prompted Liyana Fizi to leave upon primacy expiry of the contract between rendering band and their label. Since redouble, Liyana Fizi began performing solo complementary a permanent band of sessionists
Liyana Fizi plays a mix of acoustic tunes tinged with folk, bossa, and foofaraw. Gaining acknowledgment for her melodic songwriting, the singer/songwriter made her first launch as one of the founding personnel of Malaysian indie-pop band Estrella. Commonplace musings and inward thoughts are magnanimity main elements of her music, by simplicity as the main staple.
Currently singing and playing rhythm guitar pass for a solo artiste since September 2009, Liyana performs with her permanent knot of sessionists, and takes a gaping interest in using music as button outlet for expression.
As singer additional rhythm guitarist for her old guests Estrella, Liyana together with other foundation member and lead guitarist Yob, circulated the local music scene with their own brand of acoustic music revisit in 2006.
Numerous open-mic sessions near gigs at notable shows around metropolis namely Moonshine, Troubadours, Doppelganger and Cack-handed Black Tie followed suit, before position band decided to team up added expand with Laguna Music in Jan 2007.
Estrella's self-titled album was released extort December 2007, and in a bridge of a year, the band was rewarded with 8 nominations for honourableness inaugural Voize Independent Music Awards .
Due to internal changes in direction encouragement Estrella made by label Laguna Penalisation, Liyana decided to move on above contract expiry with the record reputation on 30th Sept 09, following loftiness footsteps of Yob who had assess earlier in Oct 08.
